Holidaying in the Gothic Quarter is probably the best decision for those who want to be in the heart of Barcelona’s city centre. This old part of the city is steeped in history and it will be hard to run out of things to do or places to see. Take a walk through the narrow streets and admire the old buildings. Stop at the nearby Plaza Nova and take pictures by the two Romanesque towers that flank the door Del Bisbal. On Thursdays the square becomes an antiques market. Next to the square is the Gothic Barcelona Cathedral which is a popular city attraction and the seat of the Archbishop of Barcelona. Down the road from this holiday apartment is the famous Rambla Boulevard which is the place to be for shopping, dining, drinking and being amongst the crowds in general. La Boqueria market is just off Rambla and it’s the perfect place to buy fresh produce that you can stock up the apartment kitchen with. Another popular attraction in the area is the Picasso Museum which is only a ten minute walk away.
